Major General Maurizio Fronda, Commander EUFOR, visited the municipality of Nevesinje, where he met with the Mayor of Nevesinje, Mr. Milenko Avdalović, as part of EUFOR’s continued engagement with local authorities and communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the current security situation and to discuss issues of importance to the local community.
EUFOR Announces Annual Quick Response Exercise
Commander of EUFOR Major General Maurizio Fronda held a press conference today, on 17th August 2026, along with the deputy Minister of Security Mr. Ivica Bošnjak and the Chief of Joint Staff of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina Lieutenant General Gojko Knežević who was accompanied by his deputies Major General Mirsad Ahmić and Major General Tomo Kolenda for the purpose of informing citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina of EUFOR’s annual exercise ‘Quick Response’.

Over the past two days, EUFOR participated in the 53rd Plum Fair in Gradačac, bringing together visitors, exhibitors and people from across Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the fair, Gradačac became a lively meeting place for people of all generations, with a programme that offered something for everyone.

EUFOR’s annual multinational exercise, Quick Response 2026, is taking place from 22nd August to 03rd September across Bosnia and Herzegovina. It involves troops from 24 contributing nations, currently deployed in-theatre that will be temporarily augmented by reserve units from 8 nations. “Quick Response 2026” is a key activity through which EUFOR tests its ability to deploy rapidly, coordinate effectively, and act in support of maintaining a safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Strong partnerships begin with open dialogue. As part of EUFOR's continued engagement with communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Commander of EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, visited the municipalities of Bijeljina and Zvornik, where he met with the Mayor of Bijeljina, Mr. Ljubiša Petrović, and the Mayor of Zvornik, Mr. Bojan Ivanović.

EUFOR STRATCOM Addresses PCRC Audience at Europe House
Team from EUFOR STRATCOM delivered a presentation to almost 50 students, young activists and researchers from BiH, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro. The presentation was a contribution to the Youth Academy “State of Peace” organized by the Post Conflict Research Centre (PCRC). The academy brings together young people from across the region, with participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia.
EUFOR LOT House Drvar Engages with Local Community at Streetball Tournament
Members of EUFOR’s Liaison and Observation Team House in Drvar contributed in the 13th Streetball Tournament, held in Drvar from 24 to 26 July 2026. Organised by Basketball Club Borac Drvar 1972, the event brought together young athletes, families and basketball supporters from the local community for three days of sporting competition. Participants competed across several age categories, including Junior, Cadet, Pioneer, Younger Pioneer and Girls’ competitions.
EUFOR exercise near Foča ahead of the Quick Response 2026
EUFOR successfully conducted a joint training exercise in the vicinity of Foča on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, involving personnel from its Aviation Detachment, Multinational Battalion (MNBN) and LOT Coordination Centre. The exercise brought together EUFOR personnel, aviation assets and military vehicles to strengthen cooperation and interoperability between EUFOR elements ahead of Exercise Quick Response 2026.

EUFOR will conduct a joint training exercise involving personnel from its Aviation Detachment, Multinational Battalion (MNBN) and LOT Coordination Centre in the vicinity of Foča between 1900 hrs and 2300 hrs on Wednesday, 05 August 2026. The exercise will involve EUFOR personnel, aviation assets and military vehicles as part of routine training designed to confirm EUFOR’s operational readiness ahead of Exercise Quick Response 2026.
