IT'S often said good things come in small packages. And that's particularly applicable to the Honda Jazz - a city car with the carrying capacity of an estate. Certainly, there are racier-looking small hatches and faster pocket rockets abound, but there are few reasonably priced models that can hold a candle to the Honda's blend of clever usage of space and real-world economy.

THERE'S a definite hint of nostalgia about the newest Skoda Fabia. Not only is it a hatchback, a trend lately largely overtaken recently by the upright and ubiquitous SUV, but it's pretty quick ⦠at least to warm hatchback standards, if not exactly a full-on hot hatch that rivals the iconic Cooper S. Yet the Fabia TSI 130 loses none of its practicality and sensible nature through its new-found turn of speed.

VOLKSWAGEN Commercial Vehicles has opened UK order books for the Amarok Dark Label Special Edition pick-up. The Amarok has built a reputation as one of the best all-round pick-ups in the UK - combining off-road capability with a premium interior and on-road refinement. The roof rails, rear styling bars, side steps, exterior mirrors, bumpers and door handles are all gloss black, as are the X-style front facia, grill insert and skid plate. The 20-inch alloy wheels are a new matte black finish.

ROAD-safety organisation GEM Motoring Assist is urging drivers to adopt a smoother driving style, saying it is one of the simplest ways to reduce fuel costs while making roads safer for everyone. Pump prices continue to put pressure on household budgets; GEM says drivers can make the most of every litre by looking further ahead, maintaining steady speeds, leaving more space and avoiding sharp acceleration or heavy braking.

KIA is expanding its fully electric Kia GT line-up in Europe with the introduction of three new models - the Kia EV3 GT, Kia EV4 GT and Kia EV5 GT. First presented at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, the three models are now available on the European market, bringing Kia's GT philosophy to a wider range of customers and vehicle segments. The EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT mark the next step in Kia's electric performance strategy.

HOBSON Industries and TVS Supply Chain Solutions are the latest companies to joinTeam Grenadier, a UK-anchored industrial consortium dedicated to delivering a range of vehicles ideal for deployment by the UK Ministry of Defence based on the INEOS Grenadier platform. The new partners join INEOS Automotive, SMT Defence and NMS UK in the consortium.

SKODA is expanding its best-selling Karoq lineup with a new, range-topping Black Edition model. Introduced to celebrate the production of the millionth Karoq, the new model features the highest level of equipment ever offered in a Karoq. Available to order from October 1 2026, the new Karoq Black Edition builds on the specification of the current flagship model, the SportLine Edition.

IF you're a driver of a certain age, the name Capri will evoke images of a flashy but affordable coupe with penchant for hanging out its tail. Well, that was the super-popular Ford Capri of the 1970s. With a three-litre, six cylinder up front it was guaranteed to provide cheap thrills. Of course, there were also slower, even cheaper (somewhat boring) versions in the range. Reborn last year, the current incarnation couldn't be more different.
