It’s something we would recommend everyone tries at one point, as even if you feel nervous about it (which you are bound to), everyone says that after they have done it, they learned a lot about themselves. If you’ve been considering your first solo adventure, the Camino de Santiago deserves a place at the top of your list.

I’ll be honest, before visiting, it probably wasn’t the first place that jumped into my head when I thought of a Nova Scotia family road trip either. But there’s a very good chance you have eaten something delicious from this quiet coastal town without even realising it. I’m talking about scallops. Not just any scallops. Digby scallops.

Canada’s Prince Edward Island, or PEI as the locals call it, is known for lobsters, potatoes, beaches, rolling green hills, and the famous book, Anne of Green Gables. It is a strange little combination when you first say it out loud. Potatoes, seafood, red sand, literature and beaches? But somehow Prince Edward Island makes it work. Beautifully, actually. PEI is one of those unassuming holiday destinations that quietly sneaks up on you.
