European Commission confirms continued need for aftermarket competition rules
The European Commission has published its evaluation of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (MVBER) and its Supplementary Guidelines, concluding that the sector-specific competition framework for the automotive aftermarket remains relevant and continues to play an important role in protecting competition. The evaluation assessed the effectiveness of the rules between 2021 and 2025 and examined whether they remain fit for purpose in a rapidly changing automotive sector.
Valeo unlocks Asian vehicle repairs for independent garages
Valeo is helping independent garages capitalise on the rapid growth of Asian vehicle brands across the aftermarket, providing workshops with an extensive Original Equipment (OE) quality transmission range, stock availability and technical support. As these modern passenger cars enter the critical three- to five-year-old aftermarket 'sweet spot', Valeo warns that independent repairers risk missing out on valuable revenue due to concerns over part availability or technical complexity.

Tech'n'Tools to have large presence at 2026 Auto Trade EXPO
Tech'n'Tools has outlined its plans for the 2026 Auto Trade EXPO, where its partners will once again showcase a number of innovative workshop tools and equipment. Delphi, will display OE level diagnostic and test equipment. Boxo Tools, will have its Toolbox Van of premium range of Powerhand and Hurricane hand tools and storage solutions at the show. CLAS, will showcase its automotive and commercial vehicle tools and equipment.
TRP introduces price reductions on select climate control and filter parts
TRP Parts Ireland has introduced new price reductions on a selection of Eberspächer and Mann-Filter products. The reduced prices took effect on 2nd August and apply to selected climate control parts from Eberspächer and filters from Mann-Filter. TRP notes that these reductions are not an offer, rather a "new standard".
Schaeffler Vitesco expands portfolio
After launching the Schaeffler Vitesco brand with a range of NOx sensors last year, the company has expanded its portfolio of high-tech products. Vitesco was successfully integrated into the Schaeffler family in 2025, initially launching a range of popular NOx Sensors into aftermarket under the 'Schaeffler Vitesco' brand name.
Magneti Marelli expands timing chain kit range
Magneti Marelli Parts & Services is expanding its Timing Chain Kit range with new Super-Kits and new part numbers for VVT (Variable Valve Timing) camshaft phasers and OCV (Oil Control Valve) valves, further extending available application coverage. The new Super-Kits combine chains or belts, water pumps, gaskets, and small parts in a single part number.
Comline launches EVLine range of brake pads
Comline has introduced its new 'EVLine' range of brake pads in response to the growing number of electric and hybrid vehicles entering the workshop. With over 3,700 part numbers currently available, and new additions monthly, Comline says it is committed to supporting the independent aftermarket in servicing the increasing number of EVs. The EVLine brake pads are R90-approved and are engineered to deliver low-noise operation and consistent stopping performance.
Liqui Moly to present new workshop solutions
