© PROJECT MBW A new original anime series was announced in September 2024 with Maebashi Witches from Sunrise. Set for an April 2025 premiere, it comes from director Junichi Yamamoto and scripts by Erika Yoshida. Nozomi Tachibana is handling the character designs based on Inami Yu’s original work with Bandai Namco Filmworks on the animation production. With an April 6th, 2025, premiere date for the project through Tokyo MX set, Crunchyroll made its pickup of the show for simulcast.

©本郷あきよし・東映アニメーション The Digimon property is expanding with the reveal of the Digimon Beatbreak series in March 2025. The new project is set for an October 2025 debut with Toei Animation once again behind the animation project. The new work has Hiroyuki Kakudo directing it with character designs by Rie Nishimura. The show saw an October 5th, 2025, premiere date, and Hulu announced its pickup of the series for a same-day premiere.

Things recently came to a close for the Bungo Stray Dogs – Dazai, Chuuya, Age Fifteen manga adaptation of the light novels, as the final volume was scheduled for an October 4th, 2024 release in Japan. With that in mind, the focus then shifted to the Storm Bringer manga, which saw the first compiled volume coming up on September 26th, 2025. You can see the finalized cover artwork below. The series adapts the light novels from Kafka Asagiri, with Shiwasu Hoshikawa handling it.

© トマトスープ（秋田書店） / 天幕のジャードゥーガル製作委員会 We learned in April 2025 that another manga is on the path to an anime adaptation, with the Tenmaku no Jādūgar getting the nod. The manga translates as A Witch’s Life in Mongol which began in 2021 from creator Tomato Soup. The manga has six volumes out as of July 2026, with Yen Press bringing it out in English as Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia. The series was previously set for a July 2026 debut in Japan through the IMAnimation block.

©えろき・コノシロしんこ／小学館／ウェイブ Web domain registrations continue to be a fun way to get an idea of something new coming up that hasn’t been formally set yet, and a new one came up previously. Back in December 2025, we talked about how the domain name was registered for the manga series Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san (うしろの正面カムイさん). The manga began in 2020 as serialized in Ura Sunday by writer Eroki and artist Shinko Konoshiro. The manga has eleven compiled volumes so far (see NSFW artwork here) and is ongoing.

© 中条比紗也 ・ 白泉社 ／ 「花ざかりの君たちへ」 アニメ製作委員会 The Hana-Kimi manga from Hisaya Nakajo is in the works for an anime adaptation that could see a 2025 debut. The original manga ran for 23 volumes between 1996 and 2004, as serialized in Hana to Yume magazine. It saw a couple of live-action TV series in Japan and one in South Korea and Taiwan as well, making it a very popular title in the region. Viz Media has released the series in English.

We learned with the seventh volume of the manga adaptation on June 13th, 2025, that The Ogren’s Bride was getting an anime adaptation. Known originally as Oni no Hanayome, the original novel series from writer Kureha and illustrator Yu Shiratani began in 2020 and has nine volumes so far. A manga adaptation by Jun Togashi began in 2022, which is released in English by MangaPlaza. It has six volumes out so far as serialized through noicomi for Starts Shuppan.

© えぞぎんぎつね・SBクリエイティブ／「ここ俺」製作委員会 An anime adaptation was announced for a 2026 TV debut with the light novel series I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand, revealed in October 2025. Known originally as Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita, it comes from writer Ezogingitune and illustrator DeeCHA. The novel series began in 2018, originally with distribution in 2019, with seven volumes so far, with it ongoing.

The manga-like compact editions of various DC Comics arcs and storylines that are pretty accessible to new readers continue to do well, but DC Comics also knows there are a lot of people who enjoy the more traditional releases. One of those was previously solicited for an August 4th, 2026, release with Teen Titans: Together. The 208-page book will be priced at $16.99 and comes from writer Kami Garcia with artwork by Gabriel Picolo.
