Newcastle United goalkeeper Sofia Borg has signed her first professional contract with the club. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies earlier today. The 18-year-old stopper is the second young player to agree professional terms with Newcastle United this week. Borg joined the Newcastle United academy last season from the Football West Academy in her native Australia.

Arsenal defender Emily Fox has signed a new contract with the club. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning. The 28-year-old United States international joined Arsenal from American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club North Carolina Courage in January 2024 and she has gone on to be a success in North London. Fox has gone on to make 93 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions in which she has scored three goals.

Newcastle United defender Abbie Richardson has signed her first professional contract with the club. The 18-year-old is the first-ever graduate of the Newcastle United academy to sign professional terms with the club. Richardson is yet to make her senior debut for The Magpies but she was included in the first team squad on a couple of occasions last season.

Birmingham City head coach Amy Merricks was pleased with her side’s performance despite falling to a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Blues suffered a second defeat in three games, however, their continued development was clear to see in South West London. When speaking to the media after the match, Birmingham City boss Merricks highlighted the contrast between a frustrating first half and a much-improved second half showing at The Bridge.

Chelsea head coach Sonia Bompastor was pleased with her side’s performance as they recorded 2-0 victory over Birmingham City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Lexi Potter and Melvine Malard secured The Blues’ second league win of the season. West Ham United head coach Rita Guarino says that she has been pleased with forward Kelly Gago’s impact since her arrival at the club. The 27-year-old joined The Hammers from Everton over the summer. She netted her first goal for her new club last weekend in a 2-1 victory over London CIty Lionesses. Gago will face her former side on Sunday when Everton visit The Chigwell Construction Stadium.
