Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation President Dan Glessing joined staff from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and business and agriculture leaders from across the state on a trade and business trip to Denmark and Sweden Sept. 27-Oct. 3. The delegation met with government, business and economic development leaders to strengthen international partnerships and advance Minnesota's leadership in agriculture, health care innovation, clean technology, higher education and advanced manufacturing.

Through the Farmers to D.C. program, held Sept. 14-17, Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFBF) members from across the state came together to advocate for agriculture and share firsthand perspectives with federal policymakers. Representing a wide range of backgrounds including dairy, crop production, ranching, agronomy and agricultural education, nine participants brought unique experiences that reflected the diversity of Minnesota agriculture.

MORGAN, Minn. – Le Sueur County Farm Bureau member Meg Stuedemann was named the 2026 Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year during a special recognition ceremony at Farmfest on August 6. The award recognizes Minnesota women who demonstrate exceptional commitment to agriculture and positively impact their communities. "Much to my shock and amazement, I was named the 2026 Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year," Stuedemann said.

"While Minnesota Farm Bureau appreciates Senators Klobuchar and Boozman's continued leadership on the farm bill, today's setback is a disappointment. The bill included several provisions our members advocated for, including year-round E-15, but not moving it forward today sets up farmers for continued unpredictability.

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) is excited to announce the fourth class of its “The Herd” program. The Herd is for members aged 18-23 who enjoy social media and have an interest in sharing their passion for agriculture through those platforms. Throughout the year members of The Herd gain valuable skills in agriculture communication by learning from industry professionals and through hands-on experiences. Members will participate in the program for one year.

The 2026 Minnesota State Beef Ambassadors visited the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation office this week to learn more about the partnership between the two organizations and practice useful skills when advocating for agriculture. Minnesota Farm Bureau staff led workshops focused on effective communication, using social media to be a voice for agriculture and Minnesota cattle producers, and confidently navigating challenging conversations.
