This week on the pod the gang is back together as Rossko returns to navigate the team through this weeks news including retailers pushing back on Sony’s physical discs announcement, the news that Compulsion Games are looking for new developers to work with on their projects now they’re independent. Also, what would our favourite video game characters smell like? We discuss this very important subject with the news that Street Fighter will be releasing candles based on their characters.
Denshattack! Review PS5 – Tomy Hawks
Literally Train Attack in Japanese, Denshattack! is a madcap Jet Set Radio or Tony Hawks, but on rails, because you control a train.
Dark Scrolls Review (Switch) – Right, Let’s Go!
The standard fantasy trope has been done to death, throughout many a medium. You know which one: a warrior, a mage and another template all band together to thwart some evil, save the day and whatnot. We’ve had Gauntlet, Final Fantasy and its parody webcomic 8bit Theater. We’ve had many an RPG and even the subversive ones. But we haven’t had many rogue auto-scrollers, which is where Dark Scrolls comes in.
The Finger Guns Podcast Ep. 338 – The Sh*t Sandwich That Is Video Game News Continues.
This week on The Finger Guns Podcast Dr Kat takes the reigns with Miles and Josh to talk the weeks news, and it’s another absolute hellscape for which we are struggling to get through with any semblance of positivity. We start by focusing on the aftermath of the PlayStation announcement that they’re pulling physical games. Sony have stayed remarkably silent on the topic, and haven’t taken a second to acknowledge the backlash. But why? We discuss.
The Finger Guns Podcast Ep. 337 – PlayStation Pull Physical Releases
This week on The Finger Guns Podcast, Rossko and Miles get together to talk the week’s news (along with a review of My Chemical Romance at Anfield) which once again is just sad and not good. Who is being rubbish this week? Sony! They’ve confirmed that they will cease production of physical discs from January 2028, which has led to the end of an era discussion and gets a little emotional talking about the disappointment of the gaming industry of late.
The Finger Guns Podcast Ep. 336 – GTA VI Is Digital Only At Launch And The Internet Is *Fine* About It
This week on The Finger Guns Podcast, Rossko, Kat, Miles and Josh talk all about the weeks news and spoiler – it’s rubbish again. First up the Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders have gone live and the internet is having an absolute meltdown about some of the choices Rockstar have made to get here. Also the Steam Machine price has been revealed and we talk about what on earth they’re thinking and if we’re seeing the decline of the entire industry itself. Brilliant.
NBA The Run Review (PS5) – Going Mild In The Paint
It’s been just shy of two weeks since the New York Knicks won the championship against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5. A victory decades in the making, an underdog story that’s turned players putting in the work into stars, and given the city chants that could rival the UK football scene. Long story short, whether you’re a Knicks fan or not, now is a great time to be into Basketball. The theatricality, the talent on court, the tense match-ups, it’s all there.
The Finger Guns Podcast Ep. 335 – Xbox’s Horrible No Good Very Bad Week – June 2026 Edition
This week, Rossko, Miles and Josh eat some humble pie about the Xbox Showcase after we learned that Xbox were planning to close Senua developer Ninja Theory before the showcase even began. It’s all a bit rubbish and we get into what on earth Xbox are up to this time. Elsewhere, Life is Strange developer Dont Nod are facing financial issues. How has this happened and can they be saved? We discuss. Also, PlayStation have patented a controller that gets harder the more you touch it. Cough.
Hitman: World of Assassination: The Wizard Review (PS5) – Connor But Better
It must be a right pain in the ass for developers when celebrities they’ve made content with get cancelled. In the case of IO Interactive, ripping down alleged abuser Conor McGregor’s Hitman Elusive Target fully out of their enormously successful World of Assassination live service clearly wasn’t enough. Instead, they’ve brought the entire level back but this time, replaced McGregor with rapper Wiz Khalifa, and, well, changing very little else.
2 Fights in 2 Tight Spaces Early Access Review (PC) – 2 Fight or Not 2 Fight
Agent 11 is down to his last 4 HP. I’m surrounded. Gun wielders lined up blocking my escape, knifeman in front frothing at the prospect of gutting me. I’m screwed. That is until I discover the flip card. With an almighty Obi-Wan vs Darth Maul maneuver, I fling myself over my assailant, before grappling him into the line of fire of an assault rifle. Push kicking another gun-totting foe, off a railing, my safety is secured.
