Hurrah! *Punches air! That’s the feeling I get - a kind of dizzying ‘what do I do now?’ sensation which can also be a little weird, after months spent huddled over the laptop. All Grown Up by Fiona Gibson is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts please consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. Last week I wrote about accompanying my photographer dad on his various missions. I’d pass him various bits of equipment - but mainly my purpose was to mooch about in front of a building to give a sense of scale. Arduous work, right? And without unionisation or pay! But I didn’t mind really because it was fun hanging out with Dad.
Things I've learnt about my dad

I know he’s clever and interesting and has many interests and passions. But it took a day, a couple of weeks ago, to remind me that Dad’s working life was a huge part of who he is.
