Google’s new Pics image-editing tool brings advanced AI editing, text translation, upscaling and collaboration features directly into Workspace apps. Google has begun rolling out Pics to users, in addition to customers of its Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus plans. Google AI Pro for Education users are also starting to get access from today (Tuesday) onwards. Google Pics builds on the Nano Banana image-generation model.

Perplexity’s new Hybrid Compute lets users combine cloud and local AI models, keeping sensitive data on their Mac while potentially reducing inference costs. Mozilla has introduced a built-in ad blocker for Firefox on iOS that blocks third-party ads and trackers while leaving website and search-result ads unaffected. Mozilla has now added an ad blocker for iOS, allowing users to easily block many third-party ads and ad-related trackers. The new blocker uses the EasyList filter list and Apple’s WebKit Content Blocker technology, which is the same content blocker API used by Safari.
