When I ski with glasses on, the helmet presses on the temple arms and my head hurts on both sides. If I take them off, I can still see where I'm going and make out the general direction, but I can't see the snow right under my feet — feels sketchy.

Luckily both were pretty low-impact and I had my protective gear on, so I walked away fine. Especially notable were Liz' Blizzard Sambas purchased at a shop in Reno for 1/3 of retail price in March 2014. I would not speculate that this trend continues into the summer. I think most sellers want to clear out their inventory in spring in preparation for the upcoming season. #3 Lots of factors goes into gear sales. What region you are in.

Caminito del Rey, Spain, Aug. 18, 2026
#1 Very late in the trip planning, Jimmy Petterson informed me by e-mail that we HAD to do this if we were going to be in southern Spain. It was a tight squeeze. We were driving south from Madrid to Grenada Aug. 16 to visit the Alhambra the next day, but our flight home from Madrid was on the 19th. Standard tickets were sold out and even for guided tour tickets the earliest we could get was 12:20PM.

These were my first ski visits to Europe since going to the Kitzbühel Alps of Tirol in March 2002.
