I'm boycotting Canada until the country gets its fire problem under control. Smoke from Canadian wildfires will blanket the skies of the Northeast through mid-week, and when paired with hot, humid conditions expected during that same time, it could make for difficult breathing conditions for some. www.nbcnewyork.com

You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 The guy with the longest “turns all year” streak to my knowledge is Tom Szwedko who now is in memory care in Denver. I celebrated his 500th straight month with him and his friends in May 2021 at Loveland ski area.
OpenSnow: Forecast Model Issues

ChrisC Well-known member #1 I have given up on OpenSnow for anything resembling accuracy for Europe, South America, New Zealand, etc. Basically, it gives a rough estimate of whether it will snow.
Ski-Air Travel
jimk Well-known member #1 In another thread James mentioned that he obtained a better outcome in a baggage dispute at an Austrian airport because he knew how to cuss in German  What are some of your better/worse/most memorable air travel stories while on ski trips? I probably have more ski-road trip stories than air travel stories, but there is one airline situation I take tightwad pride in... about five years ago I flew Frontier for a ten-day ski trip from the East Coast to Utah.

Aspen One/SkiCo Updates. (Alterra IPO: Maybe Never)

ChrisC Well-known member #1 Most interested in the following: Aspen down 21.5%. (Means Vail's CO resorts likely took a 25-29% decline to get to Colorado's overall decline number. Likely CO destination resorts held up better.) Acknowledged they compete with European resorts. Aspen's future model is not Vail, but a year-round resort like Gstaad or Zermatt.
Great Northern Snowcat, B.C. Jan. 23-25, 2005
You are using an out of date browser. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 I chose Great Northern for its more reliable location (Trout Lake, about an hour south of Revelstoke) because I had close calls with rain events at Island Lake the past 2 seasons.
Freeride Skiing/Snowboarding Olympic debut at 2030 Alpes Winter Games

ChrisC Well-known member #1 It will be interesting to see where they locate this event in the future. For 2030 Alps France and 2034 SLC, there are good choices. In France, there are Olympic villages and events in Briançon and La Plagne, and the Freeride World Tour has recently stopped in Val Thorens; this could be an obvious choice.

SW Colorado Fires: Ferris and Gold

ChrisC Well-known member #1 My brother had to pack a Fire Evacuation Kit for the July 4th weekend due to local fires increasing in size. Although Telluride is protected by geography, mountains, and winds from both fires (Gold and Ferris), everything was smoky over the weekend.
