When Julie Robertson, 56, was faced with a partial knee replacement roughly five years ago, the physical therapist worried she was heading down the path of becoming a “frail adult” after losing a lot of muscle in the wake of her surgery. To push back against this fate, Robertson signed up for Logan Health Fitness Center’s “Barbell Strength” class. By February 2024, she was competing in her first powerlifting competition. “It’s empowering,” Robertson said.

This summer I’ve spent a lot of time untangling fishing line, rethreading rods, and pulling hooks of various lures out of dock lines, clothing, and other objects that sadly were not perch, pike, or walleye. The Texas-based developer who owns Kalispell Center Mall has backed out of a request for funds from the city’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district after beginning the application process earlier this year. TIF funds are generated through property taxes in four TIF districts in Kalispell to help with projects improving blighted properties. The Kalispell Center Mall falls within the Westside/Core Area District.
