From 1st September, litter fines are set to increase from €150 to €250 as part of the State's Circular Economy strategy. The increase comes alongside a new €250,000 fund announced by Minister of State for the Circular Economy Alan Dillon to support local authorities in keeping public spaces clean and tackling litter.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has released its official 262 new vehicle registration statistics for August. New car registrations for August were up 3% (7,811) compared to August 2025 (7,581). Registrations year to date are up 5% (121,979) on the same period last year (116,068). Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) decreased by 10% (2,382) compared to August last year (2,651). Year to date, LCVs are up 7% (29,604).

Following the success of last year's campaign, which raised €26,310, Ford Ireland is partnering once again with Irish Guide Dogs. For every valid test drive taken at participating events, Ford will donate €30 to the charity, up to €6,000 per event. Ford Ireland has announced the return of its 'Drive for your Community' initiative in partnership with Irish Guide Dogs, following a successful first year that raised €26,310 for the charity.

The research explores the complex array of neurophysiological factors that may influence the sense of thrill that drivers experience when behind the wheel, the relative importance of speed, and the 'sweet spot' where the individual is in a 'flow' state and driving thrill is at its peak.
