The average price paid for an electric vehicle in February was $52,314, down from a revised $54,863 in January, according to to newly revised electric vehicle (EV) transaction price data from Cox Automotive and Kelley Blue Book. EV transaction prices in February were lower year over year by 12.8%, an accelerating decline compared to January when prices were lower year over year by 11.6%.

The 2024 Nissan Ariya is on sale now with a starting at $39,590 MSRP, with the entry-level Ariya Engage reduced $3,600 from the $43,190 price of its 2023 model, and other trim levels getting price cuts of up to $6,000. Nissan wants all versions of the Ariya model to appeal to a wider audience of EV buyers and remain competitive in the EV market.

Fleet managers running electric vehicles can now use a home charging savings calculator from MoveEV that tracks energy expenses. MoveEV, an AI-powered EV transition company that helps organizations convert fleet and employee-owned gas vehicles to electric, unveiled the tool on March 5. Honda has revealed the first built-in-America production plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, the 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV. The compact crossover received a 270-mile EPA driving range rating, the automaker noted in a news release. The CR-V e:FCEV combines an all-new U.S.-made fuel cell system along with plug-in charging capability designed to provide up to 29 miles of EV driving around town with the flexibility of fast hydrogen refueling for longer trips.

2023 and 2024 have produced a spate of inconvenient and negative headlines on the push for fleet and retail vehicle electrification, raising doubts about their timing and certainty.
