The American Petroleum Institute (API) has formally approved its next-generation heavy-duty engine oil specification, Proposed Category 12 (PC-12), clearing the way for new service classifications and licensing ahead of the 2027 model year. With the approval, the API Service Category CL-4 and API FB-4 certification marks, commonly known as the “Donut”, are now available for use.
Road Ready rolls out online training platform for trailer telematics users
Road Ready has launched a new online training platform aimed at helping fleets and technicians better utilize its trailer telematics system without pulling staff off the shop floor. Called Road Ready University, the self-paced program offers step-by-step modules covering system installation, use of the Fus1on dashboard, and interpretation of trailer data. The goal is to shorten onboarding time and ensure users can translate telematics insights into improved uptime and maintenance decisions.

The engine also introduces a 48-volt alternator and electric heating system to support a new heated aftertreatment strategy aimed at meeting stricter 2027 NOx limits, particularly during cold starts and low-load operation.
