Swiss technology group Bühler has developed Lucent, a new industrial cocoa nib roaster that uses at least 20% less energy per tonne of cocoa than its predecessor, the Tornado, and delivers up to 20% higher throughput in the same footprint. Developed by Bühler’s engineers and manufactured in Appenzell, Switzerland, Lucent combines heat recovery, predictive roasting controls, and a fully sealed product chamber.

Food regulator FSSAI has issued notices to Lotte India, Ferns N Petals and Kubera Foods for misleading claims and violation of labelling norms on their various food products. In a social media post on Instagram, FSSAI said these companies have been directed to explain within 7 days as to why action should not be initiated against them under the provisions of the FSS Act, 2006. Heritage Foods Ltd said it has submitted a detailed response to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) over a show-cause notice concerning the use of the term “Fresh Paneer” on its product packaging, maintaining that the label accurately describes the product and does not mislead consumers.
