Search ArticlesI've moved! - French For Pineapple
Hello! If you find yourself here, and perhaps wondering where I’ve gone, I’m moved my writing over to Substack. This blog will no longer be active soonish, and I’ll be moving my archive over there too. Please do come and join me, and subscribe over there, not here, to be on my mailing list. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you there! Bianca Xx
A Decade of Otto Tiles [The Kismet Collection] — French For Pineapple
Amara Its soft symmetry and earthy, textural mix of terrazzo and cement nods to cyclical life and the grounding nature of craft. Handcrafted from terrazzo and encaustic cement, available in 4 colour options. Amara might be my favourite. Actually I’m not sure. DON’T MAKE ME CHOOSE! Handcrafted with intention and rich in narrative, the Kismet Collection is available from today via Otto Tiles & Design’s showrooms in London, Miami, and Istanbul, as well as online.
Home and Fragrance Edit [Edition I] — French For Pineapple
[Ad info: contains gifted product] I have a slightly embarrassing backlog of beautiful home fragrance and perfume products to tell you about, so I thought it would be nice to put them here on my blog rather than just story them and have them disappear after 24 hours. That way it’s always here if you want to refer back for gift ideas, or gifts to self of course, because we all know they’re the best kind.
Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 [20-22 May] — French For Pineapple
Clerkenwell Design Week is upon us again, and whether you’re an industry professional, student, lecturer, or a design-hungry member of the public, everyone is welcome! Here’s a very brief highlights package from this mornings press preview / walking tour, starting at the Church of Design at St Bartholomew the Great (my kind of church!) following a quick cup of tea and a welcome chat by the amazing, and no doubt completely knackered CDW organisers, the games commenced… Roche Bobois continue...
Sideboard and Alcove Shelving Glow-Up with Croft Architectural Hardware — French For Pineapple
[Ad info: This post is in collaboration with Croft Architectural Hardware] They say that ‘touch-points’ are one of the areas where you should spend and not scrimp on when renovating or redecorating, and I am one hundred percent in agreement. Alongside light switches, and power sockets, nothing lets a space down quite like a cheap or dated handle, knob or pull. And in fact, these small but oh so important details can really update and elevate a space with minimal effort.
The Thermostat [5th November, 2024] — French For Pineapple
I really need to get back on track with healthier and gluten free eating, but whilst easing myself into hibernation season, I stumbled upon this recipe by Butternut Bakery for Cream Cheese Frosted Pumpkin Bread and OH MY GOD, it’s good.
The Best Aesthetically Pleasing Toothpastes — French For Pineapple
[Contains affiliate links] If there’s anything that can ruin the perfectly styled look of a bathroom, faster than you can say Colgate, it’s an ugly tube of toothpaste. Yes, these are the things that keep me awake at night, so I’ve put together an edit of aesthetically pleasing toothpastes that don’t need to be hidden away in a cupboard or drawer.
The Italian Collection by Kate Watson-Smyth for Graphenstone and Maitland & Poate — French For Pineapple
It’s hard not to fall in love with everything from both collections, and there’s something so edible about it all too. I guess it’s those beautiful ice-cream shades, or maybe just the fact I’m quite hungry. Now, if I was forced to choose my top three paint colours, they’d be Bianca Italia (OBVS), a wonderfully delicate palest pink, Cielo, a soft blue that I’m a tad obsessed with, and Gelato, the prettiest plaster pink you ever did see.
HI-HO SILVER! [The Return Of Silver Finishes And How To Use Them In Your Home] — French For Pineapple
[ Ad info: Contains affiliate links marked with an asterisk (*) ] Silver is back, have you heard? Of course you have, so I’m not going to pretend this is some kind of interiors insider scoop, but I thought it would be fun to curate a selection of some beautiful silver pieces that I love, to show you how you incorporate the ‘new silver’ into your homes and lives. Silver was pretty much abandoned when brass came into our worlds, particularly when it came to bathroom and kitchen taps.
The Thermostat [21st April, 2024] — French For Pineapple
I know, I know. I’ve been more and more absent from both Instagram and my blog for the past, erm… while. I know it’s been noticed as I’ve had lots of messages to see if I’m okay, which is very lovely, and thank you, yes I am! Without wanting to do that super annoying cryptic thing, but doing by default anyway (eye-roll!), eventually, I will catch you up on what’s caused my mind to be 100% distracted. What can I say - I’m an all or nothing person to a massive fault.
