It’s official! The great Liam O’Brien will be joining us at Nerdtacular this June, right here in Salt Lake City! You know him from Critical Role, countless video game voice work, commercials, directing, anime, and of course the hit animated series “The Mighty Nein” on Amazon Prime Video. I know him from just being Liam.

I was watching this old movie titled ‘Earth vs. the Flying Saucers’ from 1956. First viewing for me. It’s just as cheesy and fun as you’d expect, and I’d recommend it for vintage scifi lovers out there. (Currently on Tubi.) It hit me during the viewing that I’ve never heard the origins of the term “Flying Saucers” before. I get the idea of UFOs, and how stuff like that really took off in popular culture in those days. And flying makes sense. But why saucers?
