The Gairdner Alberta Partnered AI + Health Research Symposium 2026 brings together researchers, scholars, clinicians, trainees, students, patients, policymakers and industry leaders for 1.5 days of interactive sessions, keynotes, workshops, poster presentations and networking across health fields.

The Gairdner Foundation—home to Canada’s most prestigious biomedical research awards—is seeking a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership as we continue advancing our mission of celebrating and supporting world-leading science.

Through our partnership with the Alberta provincial government, Gairdner is dedicated to showcasing and fostering excellence in health-related research in the province of Alberta. We are issuing an open call to partner with organizations, research institutions and universities in the fields of human biology and medicine for programs to be held in Alberta with up to $25,000 in potential funding support.

Through our partnership with FRQ, Gairdner is dedicated to showcasing and fostering excellence in health-related research in the province of Quebec. We are issuing an open call to partner with organizations, research institutions and universities in the fields of human biology and medicine for programs in Quebec, with up to $40,000 in potential funding support. Potential programs should be stand-alone scientific symposia on a current and growing area of human biology and medicine.

After a rigorous global search process, we are pleased to announce that a renowned cancer scientist and global research leader will succeed Dr. Janet Rossant in leading one of the world’s most prestigious biomedical prize foundations.
