For me, there’s nothing better than getting so immersed in a single-player game that you’re thinking about it for weeks on end. While the usual go-to for many is playing games of this ilk on a massive TV, home projectors have come a long way in recent years, with input lag and not being able to use them in the daytime almost becoming a thing of the past. AWOL Vision is one such company that is making some great gear in this regard, and it has just announced an absolute beast at IFA 2026.

Capcom’s long-dormant Onimusha series is officially back, with Onimusha: Way of the Sword launching today, September 4, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It marks the first completely new instalment in the series in 20 years, following 2006’s Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, and brings Capcom’s supernatural samurai action franchise into the modern era with an entirely new adventure built around legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.

If you’ve ever thought you wanted to add some Floridian flair to your gaming room, well, you now can after Sony announced a set of limited edition GTA 6-themed DualSense controllers at September’s State of Play. The aptly named Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and White Limited Edition DualSense controllers will launch alongside the game on November 19, giving you PS5 owners some flashy new hardware to accompany your all guns blazing playthrough across Leonida.

The Blood of Dawnwalker just launched, and it comes with a rather interesting time-passing mechanic at its core. The game limits players to a set number of days to complete its story, forcing choices about which quests to pursue and which to sacrifice. It is a deliberately stressful design, built to make every decision feel like it costs you something. For some players, that is the point. For others, it turns exploration and side content into an anxiety spiral rather than an enjoyable experience.

Rebel Wolves’ dark fantasy RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker has officially launched on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, opening the gates to Vale Sangora after more than four years of development. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, The Blood of Dawnwalker is the first game from Rebel Wolves and the opening chapter of what the developer hopes will become a much larger saga. At the heart of the game is Coen, a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker – human by day and vampire by night.

I’m actually a big fan of watching GTA RP, so when we got the news that Rockstar Games was partnering with nopixel on future endeavors, I was pretty hyped for the next iteration of the server. Thankfully, it doesn’t look like nopixel V is going to disappoint, with this update shaping up to be a pretty huge moment for the scene. South Korean gaming giant Nexon is reportedly in early-stage talks to acquire development rights for the StarCraft IP from Blizzard Entertainment. The news comes according to an exclusive report from South Korean outlet, Chosun. If the deal is signed, it would give Nexon the rights to develop a successor to StarCraft 2. It effectively means the studio could make StarCraft or other titles under the IP.

Modern TVs might be bigger, thinner, and considerably better behaved than the hulking CRTs we grew up with, but plug an old console into a 65-inch widescreen and something still feels completely wrong – well, it does to me and many of my retro brethren, which is why I pack three 15″ portable TVs and a 28″ Sony Trinitron that is two heavy for two people to carry, in my gaming set up.
