July 3, 2026, 11:45 a.m. ET Former Florida basketball coach Billy Donovan reportedly agreed to become the San Antonio Spurs’ lead assistant coach, according to ESPN. The 61-year-old Gators legend stepped down as head coach of the Chicago Bulls this offseason to allow the franchise to move in a different direction after sweeping changes in the front office.

July 3, 2026, 9:54 a.m. ET Florida softball sophomore outfielder Taylor Shumaker earned a spot in the U.S. Women's National Team Athlete Pool, USA Softball announced earlier this week. She joins fellow Gators Jocelyn Erickson and Skylar Wallace in the 36-member athlete pool. Amanda Lorenz, who was originally named to the group in April, is currently on leave while expecting her first child, making room for Shumaker on the roster.

July 3, 2026, 9:32 a.m. ET Florida baseball landed a commitment from former Oklahoma Sooners outfielder Drew Dickerson on Wednesday, as announced on his personal social media account. The 6-foot-4-inch, 210-pound native of Lee's Summit, Missouri, slashed .294/.405/.535 with nine home runs and eight doubles in 170 at-bats during his two years with the Sooners.

July 2, 2026, 4:37 p.m. ET Florida basketball forward Thomas Haugh's decision to return for his senior season already appears to be paying off. Brooklyn's Barclays Center was home to the 2026 NBA Draft, where BYU standout AJ Dybansta was selected No. 1 overall. No Gators were selected throughout the 60 picks, as prospects like Haugh, Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu opted to return to Gainesville for their senior seasons.

Among those listed was the Florida Gators' all-time great quarterback, Tim Tebow, who wore No. 15 during his epic collegiate career.
