SPOKANE, Wash. – Grand Canyon women's golf rebounded from its first Washington tournament with a second place showing at the Kalispel Invitational at the Kalispel Golf and Country Club Tuesday, totaling four top 25 finishers and the best third round finish of the entire field. It's second of third straight in the Evergreen State, GCU carded an 11 over total, two more than Mountain West opponent Fresno State in third. Boise State won the 14-team tournament at 3 under par.

O’Neill places top 20 as Lopes finish opening tourney 9/21/2026 6:22:00 PM | Men's Golf INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – Grand Canyon's 2026-27 season officially began this week with the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club. The Lopes placed ninth out of 15 programs, shooting 30 over with two players finishing in the top 40 out of 84 golfers. Georgia won the tournament at 9 under, followed by Oklahoma (3 under) and Rutgers (8 over).

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Grand Canyon men's soccer finished nonconference action Sunday evening at CSUN, and after trailing 1-0 early in the match, put together two goals and a brilliant PK save to edge out the Matadors in California. News and Notes Freshman Arnau Camaño scored his team leading fourth goal of the season at the tail end of the first half.

Grand Canyon volleyball closed its weekend at the Jayhawk Classic on Sunday with a 25-21, 25-21, 25-15 loss to host Kansas at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena in Lawrence, Kansas. The Lopes entered the match coming off a Saturday victory over Ole Miss and finished the weekend with a 6-5 overall record to close the nonconference schedule. GCU hit .160 for the match with 27 kills and 15 attack errors on 75 swings, while Kansas hit .362 with 48 kills.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – After not holding a lead in the first set, Grand Canyon turned around its play so fast that Ole Miss' heads were spinning Saturday. GCU only trailed once, 1-0 in the second set, over the next three sets for an emphatic takeover that resulted in a 16-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22 victory at the Jayhawk Classic.

Lopes make strides in Riverside 9/19/2026 11:22:00 AM | Cross Country RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Grand Canyon cross country continued its season at the Riverside Invitational with the men's team finishing seventh and the women's team placing 10th Saturday. On the women's side, GCU sophomore Isabella Velazquez led the Lopes for the second consecutive meet, finishing the 6K race in 20:50.1 to place 28th overall and cracking her way into the top 10 record book.

For just about any golfer, the amazing Valley courses that Grand Canyon played during preseason qualifying would be a bucket-list trip. For GCU, it was a grind because of a team with competitiveness and depth that would have left last season's winning qualifying score out of the opening lineup this season. The Lopes tee off their season Sunday at a top-notch event, Minnesota's 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational, with a roster that is loaded with returnees and readiness.
