Moderator Capturing the unmistakable bite, bounce, and percussive character of the iconic electro-acoustic string keyboard Rhodes Music introduces the Rhodes Clav Pro plug-in, a faithful recreation of a rare 1977 Clav D6 "Transition" model. Capturing the sharp attack, expressive response, and rhythmic character that helped define the sound of funk, soul, disco, and rock, Clav Pro brings the distinctive sound and playing experience of the D6 to today's keyboardists, composers, and producers.
Into The Wild Blue Yonder: Fifty Years Of Roland, Reimagined in Roland Cloud by Scott Jay 1 day ago
The Roland Cloud logo, set amongst some analogue clouds Sponsored by Roland Cloud Control Imagine for a moment, that somewhere above the grey everyday with all of its daily challenges and drudgery exists a studio unlike any other. Every synthesiser gleams as though it has just left the factory.
Cytomic The Glue
The Glue was one of the first SSL-style bus compressor plugins to truly get it right, and it is still one of the best. Cytomic released it in 2009, when this level of circuit modeling was still uncommon, yet the sound continues to hold up against modern competition. It is simple, fast, and capable of elevating individual tracks or an entire mix without getting in the way.
If You Won the Lottery, What Would You Buy First?
Iβd first make sure I have a great facility to start building my studio in, either a really nice big home with a dedicated space and make sure it sounded fantastic. Then Iβd probably get myself a Jupiter-8 just because itβs what Iβve always wanted and still yearn for. And also a Jupiter-4 with the europa-mod because itβs the most amazing thing Iβve owned but sadly sold it because of how much I got for it (and the money went up my nose and out the window).
Best mic technique…bassoon audition recording
For a bassoon audition video (piano accompanied) in a small (100 seat) performance room/lecture theatre with close-to-cube dimensions and bare plaster walls, what would you suggest as a mic technique to minimise unwanted reflections ?
How do they achieve that pro singing sound on television live music shows?
This is something I've always wondered. I've been to live gigs. I've organized live gigs. I've seen tons of gigs from no budget to high budget. Live singing always sounds, well, live, from a technical POV. However, when I hear singing in the Eurovision contest, or the American Idol, or The Voice, or equivalent, the sound quality is always WAY better than on any live gigs I've ever seen. Some of them are prerecorded and thus can be mixed afterwards just like any other song.
There’s a lot on the Plate: how Soundtoys SuperPlate and Effect Rack can level up your effects game by Diogo C 6 hours ago
Sponsored by Soundtoys Soundtoys has a rich history that traces back to Eventide, where founding member and CEO Ken Bogdanowicz worked before departing to start his own venture. They were true pioneers in digital effects and one of the very first companies to develop plugins that were taken seriously back in the early 2000s when the DAW era was just starting to warm up. Despite this background, it took quite a long while for them to release a reverb plugin.

Rush is back, gear spotted.
After seeing Rush in 1986 and 1991, I saw the current version last night in Los Angeles (passing through coincidentally) with the girl drummer (she pulled it off as a tall task, no one was disappointed but it was far from Neil Peart). Their breakthrough album 2112 circa 1974 had a unique intro done with a couple ARP Odessy synths, the bass player Geddy Lee used the Moog Taurus pedals on Hemispheres, lots of Moog Synths on Moving Pictures, and all was well.
DAC Reality check
Hi everyone, I’m currently looking to expand the I/O in my studio. I’ve been using an Audient iD22 for years, which I consider an exceptional piece of gear, but I’ve been needing more inputs and outputs for quite a while now and I need to look for options. I’ve been diving deep into the “mid-range” vs. “high-end” converter debate. The way I see it, the primary role of a monitoring DAC is transparency, converting a digital signal into the analog domain with the least possible alteration.
