Senecio: Movieman: I was going to dump mine, but a friend of my son offered me $200, so I let him have it. He is happy with it and says that he doesn’t notice the dead pixels when viewing from his normal seating position. i have replaced it with an excellent TCL LED TV. I know that the pixel issue was not the norm, but I won’t be getting another OLED TV. The newer LED technology is improving every year. I'm thinking the same.
NZ iTunes Movie Store
I hadn't noticed, but checking my Apple/iTunes library yesterday, I was surprised to see that I passed 700 titles some time ago, and I am now sitting on 729 titles. My ultimate aim is to hit the 1000 mark, so a bit of work to do yet. I buy catalogue titles that I like when they drop to $4.99, but with new titles I will normally wait for a price drop to $9.99. I will however, pay a little extra for films that I really like.
5G or Starlink
The deprioritized traffic for fixed wireless will be something I would need to test I guess. The Spark Max Wireless plan states 395/55 mbps average speed. I've looked at WISPs but the options didn't seem that good value compared to Starlink, lower speed but still relatively high cost. For a fibre connection, I've contacted 2Degrees who I have a business account with, they said since I'm outside the fibre network to get wireless or Starlink.
Relatively simple electronic repair: Takara Tomy Train
Hello I used to be good at soldering, but that's all gone down after my long absence. My son has 2 Tomy trains which are vintage now and would like to get someone to repair them for us please. 1) Steam along - this works but I think when I was soldering it had contact with two points together so the switch does opposite things and not able to turn it off fully. Should be relatively straight forward 2) Talking Thomas - this one we got as non working condition.
How will disrupting image recognition AIs impact cars?
I read an article as part ofnthe morning doom scrolll and it got me wondering. What with people getting more paranoid about AI powered surveillance, there are all sort of efforts to mess up the algorithms, but I was wondering how that would impact modern cars that use those algorithms to pick out other cars and people. Do they run the risk of your car not "seeing" a person as a person and then not reacting properly to avoiding them?
boot-related issues dn845x6
Hello, I have a router from One New Zealand. The device model is dn8245x610. The modem is currently in "boot" mode; therefore, it requires a full Firmware image to function and return to its normal state I contacted One New Zealand, but they did not provide me with any assistance. Can anyone help me with this?
Geekzone Rugby (Union) Discussion Thread
Chastening for the springboks, felt like they were winning any 1 on 1 contact, lineouts even and scrums 60/40. They will need to do more with ball in hand than box kick when in our half
i need Firmware dn8245x610
The New Zealand firmware will be customised to the local telco. Was the router working with your ISP before? In any case, the router is currently not working anyway, so it's worth a try. Let's see if anyone else can point in the right direction.

ANZ Onlinecode not working today?
I'm with Vodafone and am not receiving any SMS "Onlinecodes" that ANZ uses for MFA when logging into internet banking. Anybody else seeing issues with these? An on call with ANZ helpdesk but they say it's all working fine from what they can see. (Apologies feel free to move this mods - wasn't sure where to put it) EDIT: After trying a bunch of times, then calling ANZ and spending 15 minutes troubleshooting with them, I suddenly got a flood of SMSs as soon as I posted here. Always the way ;D
