The Guild Awards were introduced in 1996 and reflect the Guild’s commitment to encouraging new and established food writers. The Guild of Food Writers Awards are awarded annually and are the only awards judged entirely by professional food writers, editors and broadcasters.

The Guild of Food Writers has announced the shortlist for its prestigious annual awards in food writing and broadcasting. The awards ceremony takes place on Wednesday, 6th September at the Royal Institution’s world-famous theatre. In celebrating the achievements of 2022, the Guild recognises emerging talent as well as some of the best-known food writers and broadcasters in the country.

Guild Of Food Writers 25th Anniversary Awards 2022 Finalists Announced
The Guild of Food Writers has announced the shortlists for its 25th Anniversary annual Awards, the most prestigious in food writing and broadcasting. The winners will be announced on Wednesday 22 June 2022. Our venue this year will be the Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street London W1S 4BS We are very excited to be returning to an in-person event. It is an impressive venue, and the awards presentation will take place in their world-famous theatre.
Young Food Writer of the Year Competition 2022 - Call for Entries
The Guild of Food Writers and The Week Junior are looking for the Young Food Writer of the Year 2022 The Guild of Food Writers and The Week Junior together with new sponsor, Sacla', are delighted to announce the Young Food Writer of the Year competition for aspiring, young food writers. The competition, which is now open for entries, encourages children from three age groups (10 and under, 11–14 and 15–18) to get their creative juices flowing by submitting a piece of writing inspired by food.

FAQs An A-Z of FAQs Charlotte Pike July 2021 Administration The Guild’s day-to-day Administration is looked after by Henry Mackley (admin@gfw.co.uk). Should you have any queries in relation to the Guild’s activities, please direct them to him in the first instance, or to the relevant Committee member. AGM The Guild’s constitution requires us to hold an Annual General Meeting each year. We held our first virtual AGM in November 2020, due to the pandemic. The next AGM will be held in late 2021.
