Radio
GlitterBeam Radio is a radio station aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, playing anthems and featuring a variety of speech formats and topics.
It’s aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, however can be enjoyed by everyone. Our claim is Music With Sparkle as we don’t play the usual mainstream playlist, but only big anthems. We offer a variety of shows, live and pre-recorded, on different themes: every show has a specific format, which makes every show unique. We develop shows in house but also open up our platform to other presenters. One of our highlighted traits from professional presenters is that we offer the opportunity to aspiring presenters. We help and give them guidance, develop their skills in presenting, editing, broadcasting laws and regulations etc and then provide them airtime. Our shows offer an incredible variety of topics that can be interesting, quirky and interactive. A lot of shows you would not find in mainstream media. Source

This year it’s the very first Medway Fringe! It started with a spark: a vision pitched by Spotlites Theatre director Kieron Riddell. Kieron popped into the studio to tell us about how it all started and what to expect.

Karaoke: How It Became a Global Phenomenon
Walk into a pub in Britain on a Friday night, a beach bar in Spain, a private room in Tokyo or a cruise ship crossing the Atlantic, and there’s a good chance someone will be singing into a microphone while friends cheer them on. Some performances are polished enough to rival professional concerts, while others are gloriously off-key, but that has never really been the point.

There’s a Village in England Where People Still Race Down a Hill Chasing Cheese
It sounds like something invented for a comedy sketch. Every year in Gloucestershire, hundreds of people gather on the side of a steep hill to watch grown adults throw themselves downhill in pursuit of a wheel of cheese. Welcome to the Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling event, one of Britain’s strangest and most famous traditions. The event takes place on Cooper’s Hill near the village of Brockworth, just outside Gloucester. The rules are remarkably simple.
