My family has a bit of a love-hate relationship with my cell phone. They understand that when it rings, something probably needs attention. Sometimes it's good news, like an accepted offer on an aircraft acquisition. Other times it's a transaction that's hit a snag, a client with a concern or an unexpected issue that needs a decision, a conversation, or simply a path forward. What none of us knows is when that phone is going to ring.
Canada runs on turboprops. Mining and the Arctic will keep it that way
Only three countries in the world have more turboprops than jets, with Canada being one. This fact explains more about the Canadian aircraft market than any price chart. Aviation is an important infrastructure in the country due to its massive land mass and smaller communities. Levaero Aviation's 2026 State of the Canadian Aircraft Market Report lays out the numbers that prove it. Turboprops make up 55.5% of the Canadian working business fleet.
Embraer launches latest addition to Phenom 300 line
Embraer has announced the Phenom 300EV, the latest evolution of its popular light-jet family. The jet introduces multiple new features to the aircraft line, including the Garmin Emergency Autoland. The company made the announcement on July 14, calling it an upgrade to the series. It claims the 300EV is the largest business jet equipped with the Garmin Emergency Autoland, which will automatically land the jet if the pilot is incapacitated.
NetJets Latitude crash: NTSB documents fuel-system and starter-generator damage
On June 16, 2026, a Cessna 680A Citation Latitude (N523QS) operated by NetJets crashed in Laredo, Texas. The crash killed one passenger and injured 6 others. The NTSB has released its preliminary report on the accident that include a series of CAS messages indicating multiple component failures.
Aircraft hangar space: A big business aviation bottleneck
The business aviation industry essentially revolves around aircraft hangars. These custom-built structures protect jets, turboprops, and helicopters from weather hazards. FBOs regularly provide business aviation aircraft with fuel and hangar space. MRO services, avionics specialists, and engine overhaul facilities provide their services in specially outfitted hangars. The worldwide aircraft hangar market had an estimated valuation of USD 829.32 million in 2025.

More Than a Flight to Camp: Volunteer Pilots Making a Difference
For many kids, summertime means packing up for a long-awaited trip to camp — a place where they reunite with old friends, make new ones, and create memories that last a lifetime. But for many children, the camp they need most isn't just down the road. It's hundreds or even thousands of miles away.
Business jet activity up 3.9% as North America and Europe diverge
Aircraft activity is an early read on demand and direction in business aviation. WINGX’s June report shows global activity running above last year, though the regional picture is pulling apart. For the first half of 2026, global business jet activity rose 3.9% against the same period in 2025. June activity increased 2.7% year on year.
