The Louisville Cardinals (also known as the Cards) are the NCAA athletic teams representing the University of Louisville. The Cardinals teams play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, beginning in the 2014 season. While playing in the Big East Conference from 2005 through 2013, the Cardinals captured 17 regular season Big East titles and 33 Big East Tournament titles totaling 50 Big East Championships across all sports. On November 28, 2012, Louisville received and accepted an invitation to join the Atlantic Coast Conference and became a participating member in all sports in 2014. In 2016, Lamar Jackson won the school its first Heisman Trophy. Source

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville men's basketball fans can gain an early look at a highly anticipated 2026-27 Cardinals squad when it plays two exhibition games against international competition as part of the 2026 Baha Mar Hoops Summer League this July at the Baha Mar resort, bdG Sports announced Tuesday. The four-day trip runs July 27-30 with the Cardinals playing games on Tuesday, July 28 and Wednesday, July 29 against teams from The Bahamas.

Louisville to Face Texas in 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge June 05, 2026 | Women's Basketball LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville women's basketball team will be heading to the Lone Star State as their opponent in the 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge was announced Friday afternoon. The Cardinals are heading to Austin on Wednesday, December 2 to take on Texas for the fourth edition of the SEC/ACC Challenge. Tip time and TV designation will be announced at a later date.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville football schedule has three more game times set for the upcoming 2026 season as the ACC and ESPN announced times for the first three weeks, non-Saturday games, and select other games. Louisville will open the season on Sunday, Sept. 6 at the Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff in Nashville, Tenn. Kickoff was previously announced as 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Battle of the Bluegrass Scheduled for December 12 May 27, 2026 | Men's Basketball LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's basketball will travel to Lexington on Saturday, December 12 to play the Kentucky Wildcats in Rupp Arena. Tip time and TV designation for the game have yet to be determined. Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey is entering his third season with the Cardinals. Kelsey boasts a 51-19 record through two seasons in The Ville.

LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 24 University of Louisville softball team is set to face No. 25 Grand Canyon in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Softball Championship in the Lincoln Regional on Friday, May 15. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The Lincoln Regional features host school and No. 1-ranked Nebraska, No. 25 Grand Canyon, and Summit League champions, South Dakota. With a win, the Cards will face the winner of Nebraska and South Dakota on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. ET.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville men's basketball guards Mikel Brown Jr. and Ryan Conwell have been invited to participate in the 2026 NBA Draft Combine. The NBA Draft Combine will take place from May 10-17 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. Brown averaged 18.2 points, 4.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game in 21 contests for the Cards, earning Third Team All-ACC and All-Rookie Team honors.
