Football Selected as "Team of the Week"
Shreveport - The Centenary football team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Gents picked up their first win of the season last Saturday with a 37-13 victory over Austin College. The Gents (1-3) raced out to a 10-0 lead over the 'Roos (1-4) and led 17-7 after one quarter of play. Austin College scored six in the second quarter and held Centenary scoreless as the Maroon and White took a 17-7 halftime lead.

Volleyball Swept At Nationally-Ranked ETBU
Marshall, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the nationally-ranked East Texas Baptist University Tigers on Tuesday in a non-conference contest inside Ornelas Gymnasium. The Ladies (1-9) lost for the fifth time in a row and fell to 0-5 on the road this season while the Tigers, ranked No. 13 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association national poll, improved to 12-4 and are now 8-0 at home. ETBU now leads the all-time series 18-1.

Shreveport – The Centenary women's soccer team fell 5-2 to the University of St. Thomas in its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Saturday at Atkins Field. The Ladies (2-6, 0-1 SCAC) were only down 3-2 at halftime to the Celts (3-5-2, 1-0 SCAC) but allowed two second-half goals as UST sealed the victory. UP NEXT: The Ladies will play their first conference road match next Friday, Oct. 9 against the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.

Sherman, Texas – The Centenary football team picked up its first win of the season as the Gents recorded a resounding 37-13 victory over Austin College on Saturday at Jerry E. Apple Stadium.
