Rakuten Kobo had Pocket on all of their e-readers for close to a decade, but Mozilla has killed the service off to focus on their search engine, Firefox. There was sufficient notice from the discontinuation date to the shutdown, giving Kobo ample time to find an alternative. They settled on Instapaper, which is now the largest player in the read-it-later service, where users can bookmark websites and read them across all of their devices.

The move brings together two renowned names – IONNYK and InkPoster – in one brand portfolio, combining innovation with the timeless elegance of paper-like art. With IONNYK offering the elegance of a monochrome black-and-white art experience and InkPoster delivering the freedom of color, PocketBook is set to expand the possibilities of digital art.

Remarkable has just released a new e-notebook called the Paper Pro Move. This brand-new product focuses on portability, featuring a 7.8-inch color e-paper display that utilizes the same Gallery 3 panel as the Remarkable Paper Pro, which was released last year. What is the Remarkable Move? This is primarily an e-notebook that is designed to freehand draw, take notes, and edit PDF files. The experience is similar to the Remarkable Paper Pro and the Remarkable 2 in this regard.

Remarkable currently sells two different e-notebooks. The Remarkable 2 came out a couple of years ago and remains their bestselling device of all time. The Remarkable Paper Pro came out last year and was the second device to use the Gallery 3 color e-paper display. A third model, the Remarkable Paper Pro Move, is due to be announced soon. The Remarkable Move is gearing up to be a smaller, more portable device. This will make it easier to bring it out into the world.

Firmware version 6.9 is now available for the PocketBook Verse Pro, bringing a range of improvements to the reading and user experience. The update introduces a secure PIN code feature, enhanced logo personalization, support for LCP-protected PDFs and audiobooks and other new features. With these additions, PocketBook Verse Pro becomes more secure, more flexible, and even more tailored to the needs of readers.

The Bigme B6 is the latest generation e-reader, released just a couple of weeks ago. This device is primarily used for reading digital content such as books, graphic novels, and manga. The color e-paper screen really shines, thanks to the Kaleido 3 color e-paper display. The major selling points include a speaker and Bluetooth for listening to audiobooks, as well as various speed modes, and Google Play with Android 14. The Bigme B6 features a Kaleido 3 color e-paper display with a 6-inch screen.

Earlier this week Kobo issued a firmware update for almost every single e-reader they have ever made, including the Kobo Touch. The modern e-readers such as the Kobo Clara Colour, Kobo BW and Libra Colour received one update, while the version number changed for all of their older devices, they no longer sell. Many older e-readers have had a problem with the 4.38.23429 update are having massive problems, including being stuck in a boot loop, making them unusable.
