PHILADELPHIA – University of Memphis safety Ian Foster was named to the 32nd Chuck Bednarik Award preseason watch list, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Friday. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding defensive player in all of college football.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 21 ranked Memphis women's soccer team fell 4-1 to No. 3 Vanderbilt on Friday night at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. Natalie Dvorakova scored the lone goal for the Tigers (1-2-0), heading home a cross from Miyu Morota in the 88th minute. The goal was the first of Dvorakova's collegiate career, while Morota recorded her first collegiate assist.

DALLAS – Continuing a long stretch of highly-touted running backs at the University of Memphis, redshirt junior Manny Covey was named to the 2026 Doak Walker Award watch list, the PwC SMU Athletic Forum announced. The Forum annually presents the award to the nation's most outstanding running back. Covey, a transfer who spent the past three seasons at Cincinnati, picked up his first preseason honor as a Preseason American Conference first-team punt returner by Pro Football Network.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 21 Memphis women's soccer team hits the road for the first time this season Friday, traveling to Nashville for a 6 p.m. showdown with No. 3 Vanderbilt on SEC Network The Tigers enter their first road test with a 1-1 record after opening the season with a 2-0 victory over Kennesaw State before suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat to Alabama on Saturday. MOBILE, Ala. – University of Memphis defensive lineman J'Mond Tapp was announced on the 2027 Panini Senior Bowl Top 300 Watch List. Tapp's recognition on the list gives the Tigers three consecutive seasons with a player named to the list, joining Chris Adams last season, along with Seth Henigan and Roc Taylor two years prior. Tapp is one of just eight players from a non-Power Four school and has Memphis as one of just 74 programs represented.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team will begin its 2026 campaign on the road with an in-state matchup against Belmont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday on ESPN+. SCOUTING THE TIGERS Memphis finished the 2025 season on a two-match losing streak, going 4-8-3 on the season. Head coach Richard Mulrooney has plans to right the ship, aided by a mix of returning talent and new pieces with 18 newcomers after failing to make the American Conference Tournament in 2025.

IRVING, Texas – Memphis senior outside hitter Amanda Hardt was named to the 2026 American Conference Preseason All-Conference team, the league announced Wednesday. Hardt is the first Tiger to earn preseason all-conference honors since libero Bailey Houlihan in 2023, and the program's first outside hitter selected since Hannah Flowers in 2019. The Glendale, Arizona, native enters her second season at Memphis after a standout 2025 campaign that was cut short due to injury.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head women's golf coach Jennifer Jordan announced the Tigers' 2026-27 schedule on Tuesday. "We are excited to begin this season with a competitive schedule," Jordan said. "Each and every event is an opportunity to grow, compete and prepare to win. This team has been working hard. We are very proud to represent this program." Jordan returns four players from last season's roster: Malia Cottriel, Pavarisa Jongpipittaporn, Nutsanun Khamphueng and Claire Todd.

Lashlee, a sophomore from Byhalia, Mississippi, is coming off a freshman campaign where in limited opportunities, he led the American in goals during conference play with five.
