GRV Media is soft-launching its TalkingPoints initiative on top Manchester United fan site United In Focus today. The initiative is a response to Google’s recent moves to seemingly pare back its commitment to the Open Web. Vic Daniels, GRV Media’s Executive Chairman, said: ‘Our readers have been telling us that recent Google changes have resulted in them not seeing much sports content in their Discover feeds, and that Google doesn’t surface up the kind of news they wish to consume anymore.

GRV Media is pleased to announce two internal promotions and 11 new hires. Josh Barker, who joined GRV just over a year ago, becomes Managing Editor of The Wrexham Insider. Ben Clark, who has a non-publishing background and joined the company 7 months ago, becomes Head of The Writer Lab, which helps in the selection of new hires, inducts new employees and develops existing writers. Joe Bray arrives after 7 years with Manchester Evening News. He joins Kieran Smith and the TBR Football team.

GRV Media is pleased to announce that seven of its websites hit new monthly highs in July – EFL Analysis, F1 Oversteer, Molineux News, Nottingham Forest News, Leeds United News, Tennishead and The Sport Review. F1 Oversteer becomes the fourth company website property in 2025 to hit over 10,000,000 pageviews in a single month. F1 Oversteer joins Bloody Elbow, The Golfing Gazette and The Tennis Gazette in this respect.

Katie was previously Syndication Editor at Love Incorporated, and also had stints at National World and Newsquest. She will report to Head of Editorial SEO Kieran Doody. Max Kilham has joined the company as a Sports Journalist, reporting to Callum Davies on Tennishead.

Kieran joined GRV in 2023 from Give Me Sport. He was promoted in 2024 to become Head of GRV Media’s The Writer Lab. Director and Head of Editorial SEO, Kieran Doody, said: ‘Kieran has become a key player in the business. His can-do attitude and strong work ethic always made him a strong candidate for promotion.

June 2025 came out the best month ever for GRV Media. Revenue increased by 69.9% over June 2024, with profit before tax up 75.4% over the same period. Q2 25 was GRV’s best quarter ever. H1 25 was our best half year ever. Traffic is up 57.2% year-to-date on 2024, with June seeing a 43.3% increase in pageviews over May. Five websites enjoyed record monthly pageview highs in June: Bloody Knockout, EFL Analysis, F1 Oversteer, MotoGP News, Tennishead and The Tennis Gazette.

GRV Media is pleased to announce 9 new full-time hires. Elliott Sargent comes aboard as Director, Head of Programmatic. Elliott joins from Zoopla, having previously had senior programmatic roles at Footballco and DAZN. Joe Kiemen comes aboard as Lead AI Developer. Joe taught computer science for three years, and has been working with AI technology since its inception. He was also the founder of Coded Content.

GRV Media is delighted to announce the acquisition of The Sport Review. Founded in 2008, The Sport Review will become a general (non-football) sports website at GRV, covering American sports, combat sports, golf, motorsport and tennis. Kieran Smith, The Head of GRV Media’s The Writer Lab, will also become Managing Editor at The Sport Review. Smith said: ‘The Sport Review is a recognised brand with some good authority.

GRV Media is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Tennishead website and associated assets from Advantage Publishing. The Tennishead magazine and store will be retained by Advantage, but renamed. Graham Morris, GRV’s CEO said: ‘Tennishead is a great brand, having been around covering the sport for almost 20 years. The acquisition will complement our existing tennis brand, The Tennis Gazette.
