The Pacific Daily News, formerly Guam Daily News, is a morning edition newspaper based in Hagåtña, in the United States territory of Guam. It is owned by Gannett Corporation and is published seven days a week. Joseph Flores, later the Governor of Guam, founded the newspaper.
The Pacific Daily News ("PDN" as nicknamed by locals) offers readers the latest local headlines and stories covering Guam, Micronesia and the Pacific Rim region, along with breaking news from the United States and the world. Most of what the PDN covers usually involves political matters and issues affecting those living on Guam.
In addition, the PDN also features a weekly entertainment section published each Friday called "GuamPika", which is geared towards visitors to the island.
As the only daily newspaper in the Micronesia region, the PDN is flown by air to all major islands across the region.

GPA bucket trucks and utility vehicles return from Saipan
The Guam Power Authority welcomed the return of eight bucket trucks, utility trucks, and step vans to Guam last night, July 14, GPA stated in a release. Vehicles are back following their deployment to Saipan as part of the authority's mutual aid assistance in support of the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation's post-Super Typhoon Sinlaku power restoration efforts.

Celebrate Liberation Day with wagon parade at Asan Beach
The National Park Service invites the public to participate in a wagon parade at Asan Beach from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 21 in celebration of the 82nd Anniversary of Guam’s Liberation. The event will bring the community together for an afternoon of reflection, remembrance and pride. This year’s theme, Para I Onra, Para I Gloria, “For Our Honor, For Our Glory,” honors the resilience, courage and unity of the CHamoru people and all who endured the events of World War II.
GWA: 1,550 still without water as of 11 a.m. Wednesday
The Guam Waterworks Authority estimated some 1,550 customers were still without water service as of 11 a.m. Wednesday, about eight days out from the passage of Super Typhoon Bavi. That equates to about 3.6% of GWA's total 43,643 customers without water. Total water wells online as of Wednesday morning were up to 93, nearly caught up to the 97 wells online in the early morning hours before Bavi passed on July 6. Of those 93 wells, 89 were running on island power and 4 were powered by generators.

The Guam Environmental Protection Agency board of directors decided none of its board members will sit on the fact-finding panel in the hearing of a $1.7 million fine and notice of violation issued to The Palisades development, though there’s still no hearing date scheduled, according to Guam EPA attorney Kristan Finney. “The board decided that the hearing would be by hearing officer only,” she told the Pacific Daily News on Tuesday.

5 families impacted by Sånta Rita-Sumai landslide
A landslide in Sånta Rita-Sumai during Super Typhoon Bavi displaced two households near the village mayor’s office and impacted three houses on Cross Island Road, according to Mayor Dale Alvarez. Alvarez told the Pacific Daily News that the two houses near his office were “cracked in half” by the landslide and subsequently condemned after an assessment by the Department of Public Works. The families were not injured.
