Noctua and Forced Physics DCT have announced a research partnership to assess whether JouleForce micro-channel array cooling can be adapted for desktop PCs and workstations. The collaboration is a long-term research and development effort. Neither company has announced a specific product or release date. JouleForce arrays are designed to transfer heat to air as it moves through narrow channels.

Logitech has announced the RS50 McLaren Racing Bundle, a limited racing-simulator package developed around a steering wheel styled after McLaren’s 2024 Formula One MCL38. Japanese sales begin October 15 for ¥154,000, approximately $978. The bundle is positioned as professional-grade PC and simulator hardware rather than an inexpensive gamepad replacement.

Logitech has introduced the PRO X3 LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming headset with upgraded digital audio, a full-bandwidth microphone and longer battery endurance. Japanese sales begin October 15 at ¥40,480, approximately $257. The headset uses 50mm PRO-G graphene drivers. Graphene-based diaphragm construction is intended to combine low moving mass with high rigidity, potentially reducing deformation at higher output levels.

Logitech’s new PRO X2 RAPID is a wired tenkeyless gaming keyboard combining hot-swappable magnetic switches, an 8,000Hz polling rate and onboard controls that can adjust actuation without opening G HUB. It launches in Japan on October 15 for ¥35,750, approximately $227. The keyboard uses custom KS-20 POM magnetic analog switches.

NVIDIA has confirmed that its GeForce GPU driver branch will drop official Windows 10 support starting in November, after which point new driver releases will target Windows 11 exclusively. Systems still running Windows 10 will remain on the last driver version released prior to the cutoff, meaning future GPU architecture support, game-ready optimizations, security patches, and bug fixes tied to newer driver branches will not be available to Windows 10 users going forward.

System integrator Aftershock has built a one-off gaming PC called the Cherry Bloom, featuring 70 individually hand-crafted titanium alloy cherry blossom petals mounted around the interior that mechanically unfurl and close in response to the system's internal temperature, driven by heat-reactive shape-memory alloy elements rather than motorized actuators. The complete system is priced at $14,200.

A new analysis indicates that DRAM chip makers may currently be extracting higher revenue per unit of silicon area from their wafers than TSMC earns on its N3 (3nm) logic process — a reversal of the historical relationship between memory and leading-edge compute manufacturing economics. SteelSeries has announced Cyber and Steel limited editions of the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 to mark the company’s 25th anniversary. The two versions use different OmniPoint 3.0 magnetic-switch weightings while retaining the same tenkeyless layout and adjustable actuation system. The Cyber model uses the lighter Speed switch, intended for rapid inputs. The Steel edition uses a heavier Control switch designed to reduce unintended key presses and produce a more deliberate feel.
