May 1, 2024 Hamline dropped both contests in their two game set against Augsburg last Saturday as they approach the MIAC conference tournament. Senior Braeden Bourne got the scoring started for the Pipers in game one with a second inning single to left that put Hamline up 1–0. That would be the only time the Pipers led throughout the rest of the contest as the Auggies would immediately answer back with a 2 run bottom of the inning.

Student protestors representing the encampment on Old Main’s lawn demonstrated outside of the University Leadership Team’s (ULT) meeting this morning, a meeting that decided whether President Murray would put out a statement that she met with the Students for Justice (SFJ) yesterday.

Hamline Students for Justice (SFJ) leadership met with President Kathleen Murray and Board of Trustees Chair Ellen Watters following the weekend-long occupation calling for disclosure of Hamline’s investments and divestment from Israeli companies or those that benefit the Israeli government. The occupation — calling awareness to Israel’s killing of a projected 35,000 Palestinians since Hamas attacked Israel on Oct.

Dear Hamline Community, For many of us, choosing sides in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict feels impossible. We are your colleagues and peers, Jewish and not Jewish, who find ourselves caught between love for our Jewish family and friends worldwide, including those in Israel, and the undeniable tragedy unfolding in Gaza. We have no problem publicly condemning the ungodly death toll in Gaza.

After over 29 uncertain hours, negotiations between student protestors occupying the Provost’s Office and administration reached an agreement that concluded the occupation.

April 26, 2024 Following actions on college campuses across the country, Hamline students have begun an occupation of their own in protest of Israel’s occupation of Gaza by sitting in the university president’s office in Old Main beginning around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 26. At 2:00 p.m., the administration ordered for the Old Main building to be closed, and no one has been able to enter or exit the building aside from Hamline Public Safety (HPS) and staff members who have offices inside.

The Pipers won and lost one against the Carleton Knights on Monday, managing to score 20 runs across the two contests. Game one’s action began in the top of the second when Aaron Rice of the Knights ripped an RBI triple into right center to give Carleton the first lead of the game. After extending their lead by another run in the forth, the Knights would put a man on with a hit by pitch. Junior Finn Melchior made them pay with an RBI double to make the score 2–1.

While the sun shone and a slight breeze blew outside, the Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress (HUSC) General Assembly meeting commenced for the final time of the 2023-2024 academic year. As students, faculty and staff got settled, Internal President Abi Grace Mart began the meeting. Executive board members had little to report except many brief goodbyes and expressions of gratitude as this was many of the members’ last General Assembly (GA).

In a midweek showdown, the Hamline University softball team squared off against St. Scholastica in a tense double header that showed off the skills of both teams. The Pipers left the field with a victory under their belt, splitting the series with a win in game one but a loss in game two. The opening game saw the Pipers jump into action, breaking a tense 0–0 deadlock with a powerful two runs in the fourth inning.
