A lesson in restraint and quiet ambition, the 2026 Home & Garden Colorado Designer Showhouse sits on a double standard lot at the intersection of Denver’s Belcaro and Cory-Merrill neighborhoods, like it’s been there for decades. If you look closer, however, the home’s meticulous details— barrel ceilings, graceful archways, inset brick patterning, custom millwork, and a soaring two-story living room—speak of something entirely more modern.

Andrea and Colin Ostman founded Loveland-based Follow Architecture in 2018, four years after they hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, which winds through the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges.

Sometimes a room design is based around a signature piece of furniture or a standout wall treatment. In this Cherry Hills Village primary bathroom, the design inspiration was a distinctive type of marble tile. “The homeowner wanted the bathroom to feel elegant and ethereal but also traditional and related to nature,” says designer Emily Lindemann.

The midcentury modern building in Cherry Creek that once housed the Ginny Williams Gallery has been given new life as Uchiko, one of a family of restaurants under the Hai Hospitality umbrella. “We fell in love with that building and its history as the Ginny Williams Gallery,” says Ellen Saathoff, Hai Hospitality’s design director.

General Manager Trela Phelps says the greenhouse grows dozens of vegetable varieties: fifty-five tomatoes, forty peppers, a dozen bean and cabbage varieties, ten carrots, twenty-five cucumbers and fifteen varieties of eggplants and lettuces. “That’s just what we grow,” Phelps said.

Tucked along Tennyson Street, Miller Lane Mercantile feels less like a shop and more like a thoughtfully curated space for the home. Wide folding windows open the storefront to the street, letting in fresh air and an easy, spring-ready energy that blurs the line between indoors and out. Inside, carefully chosen goods, from home accents to everyday essentials, sit alongside a standout selection of coffee table books, the kind you pick up without thinking and suddenly find yourself lost in.

The son of a sculptor and a modern dancer, he grew up immersed in Denver’s creative community. Today, much of his artistic practice explores the interplay of light, material, and perception. It’s a fitting focus for someone who, as director of galleries and curator at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, also shines a light on Colorado’s artists.
