The 6 best workstation keyboards for ultimate performance
Workstation keyboards, with flexible feature sets and extensive sound libraries, bridge the gap between the studio and the stage as the ultimate all-in-one tool for music production, composition, and performance. The Roland Fantom 8 EX is the best workstation keyboard on the market if money is no object. The Kurzweil K2700 is my favorite workstation overall, thanks to a mix of high-end features and relative value for money.
AKG K271 Mk2 review: Lightweight clarity with room for EQ
In this review, I’ll be taking a look at the AKG K271 Mk2 professional studio headphones. Priced at $279 on the company’s website, I’m curious to see if their performance justifies the cost. The K271 Mk2 headphones offer pretty solid performance, especially after being fine-tuned with some EQ adjustments. They’re overall quite clear, with great soundstage for a closed-back design. They do have a couple of quirks, like boxy upper-mids and a bass response that might feel a tad underwhelming for some.
Clavinova's best value for money?
Value for money isn’t a term I typically attach to Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos: they are luxurious and priced as such. However, the Clavinova CLP-835, a new mid-level addition to the series, might be the best buy of the bunch. In this review, I’ll discuss everything the CLP-835 has to offer and if it lives up to its early promise. The Clavinova CLP-835 replaces the CLP-735, and I already loved the older model.
The 6 best powered and true active hi-fi speakers in 2024
Powered speakers are a great solution for those who want to enjoy music with a setup that’s compact and ready to play tunes from any source. The KEF LSX II are the best true active speakers, offering a lot for the price in terms of both technology and listening experience. They come with multiple wired and wireless connection options, as well as the clear and balanced sound that defines KEF’s higher-end products.
Roland RD-2000 EX review: Flagship stage piano just got better
The RD-2000 EX is the latest edition of Roland’s flagship stage piano. Roland’s RD series has been around for many years and is always a reliable choice. In this review, I’ll highlight the difference between the RD-2000 EX and the older RD-2000 and discuss the merits of both in 2024. The RD-2000 EX isn’t a new stage piano; it’s an RD-2000 with additional expansion packs that have been pre-installed. The included expansion packs elevate a stellar instrument to new heights, especially for pianists.
The 6 best drumming books for beginners in 2024
Drumming books are an essential starting point for beginners, providing the foundational skills to master stick and pedal control. After over 10 years of drumming and reading tons of instructional and method books, I’ve understood which resources truly help newcomers progress, and below you’ll find my favorite books to guide your drumming journey. Contrary to what was stated before, this may actually be the only true important book. This is the ABCs of drumming, how you speak and express yourself.

Replacing a phono cartridge is the quickest, least invasive, and (often) cheapest way to upgrade your sound system. So before you replace your turntable, speakers, or preamp, check out our list of the best phono cartridges that can revolutionize your listening experience. To me, the Grado Prestige Gold3 offers the best quality-price ratio, with a rich and detailed soundstage and effective groove noise reduction technology that makes it perfect for old record collections.
Moving magnet vs moving coil cartridge: Which one is better?
A turntable cartridge is the part of your hi-fi system that reads the grooves of your record, serving as the connection between your music and sound system. In this article, I’ll discuss the differences between moving magnet and moving coil cartridges to help you decide which one is best for your budget and needs. I’m a music producer, audio engineer, and record label owner passionate about high-fidelity audio.
