The recent catastrophic floods in Nepal have served as a stark warning for India’s Himalayan hill stations. Recent scientific studies and government assessments highlight that Manali faces a dangerous combination of climate-induced glacial threats and aggressive human development.

Dharamshala: The Tibetan leadership on Wednesday launched a strong attack on China’s policies in Tibet on the 66th Tibetan Democracy Day, alleging erosion of the Tibetan language, culture, religion and identity, while prominent Chinese pro-democracy activist Wang Dan held up the Tibetan democratic system in exile as a possible model for a future democratic China.

Dharamshala: Direct air connectivity between Dharamshala and Chandigarh resumed on Monday with IndiGo operating its non-stop flight from Kangra’s Gaggal Airport to Chandigarh. The flight (6E 7722) took off from Gaggal at around 2:05 PM on the first day of the resumed service today. According to the announced schedule, the flight will operate four days a week—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

But we were hearing a lot about dogs and very little from them. So I decided to investigate.

A pothole complaint filed once with the PWD is easy to lose track of for the resident who filed it, and for the department meant to fix it. But fifteen complaints about the same stretch of road, filed over eight months, are not an anecdote. They are a pattern. Today, there is no public place in Himachal Pradesh where that pattern becomes visible. The Himachal Accountability Project (HAP) is a new platform built to close that gap.
