In 1979 with just R900, Allan Hirsch, an appliance repair man unwittingly became an entrepreneur. Together with his wife, Margaret Hirsch, they started their family run appliance business in a tiny showroom, no bigger than a bathroom, in Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
Hirsch’s, a name synonymous with service and brand excellence has taken the home appliance world by storm! With sixteen branches and concept stores spread throughout South Africa, they have become a force to be reckoned with. Today the Hirsch’s are proud of their position as the biggest independently owned Appliance and Electronics Retail outlet in South Africa.
