On Friday morning, the football world received the news that the legendary Mike Ditka had passed away at the age of 86. There are few players or coaches in the history of the league that became more woven into the fabric of a team and city more so than Ditka. Drivers using Kiwanis Avenue in Sioux Falls will need to deal with more lane closures beginning Friday, October 9, as crews continue concrete repair work in the area. will affect the southbound outside lane of North Kiwanis Avenue between Fifth Street and Sixth Street. Local comedy fans have something big to look forward to in 2027. Jay Leno, stand-up legend and host of The Tonight Show for more than 20 years, is coming to Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa, on Sunday, February 21st at 7:00 PM. The New Rochelle, New York native began doing stand-up comedy shortly after graduating from college in 1973. Four years later, he made his first appearance on The Tonight Show on March 2, 1977.

Downtown Sioux Falls drivers could soon have to dig a little deeper into their pockets when parking on Phillips Avenue. According to Sioux Falls Simplified the city’s parking department is proposing several changes to downtown parking rates and enforcement hours. T The proposals were presented to the Sioux Falls City Council Tuesday afternoon. Under the proposal, parking on Phillips Avenue would increase to $1.75 per hour.
