U2's The Joshua Tree among the most-streamed albums of the '80s
U2’s album, The Joshua Tree, made 6th place on the official list of most-streamed albums of the ‘80s from the UK's Official Charts. Also on the list were The Stone Roses' self-titled album at No. 1, Michael Jackson's Bad and Thriller at No. 2 and 3, Back in Black from AC/DC at No. 4 and Appetite for Destruction from Guns N' Roses at No. 5. Produced by Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, The Joshua Tree is the band’s fifth studio album.
Morgana sells out of new "Screaming for any team/ To beat England" caps ahead of World Cup semi-final
Ahead of tonight's World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina, Morgana has sold out of her latest piece of album merch – new caps stating: "Screaming for any team/ To beat England..." The phrase is a lyric from 'Sidekick', the latest single from the Belfast-born, Dublin-based artist – who initially rose to prominence as a member of Saint Sister. 'Sidekick' is set to feature on Morgana's eagerly awaited debut album, The Whole Thing Was Very Very Emotional, out September 25.
Jacob Alon shares cover of 'All Apologies' "inspired by Sinéad O'Connor's version"
Jacob Alon has shared their cover of Nirvana's 'All Apologies' recorded live from the Roundhouse in London - stating on social media that their rendition was "inspired by Sinéad O'Connor's version." The cover comes ahead of their live album set to be digitally released August 14. Live From The Roundhouse will feature 13 tracks recorded at the artist's sold out London Roundhouse show from April.
Beck announces new album Ride Lonesome
Beck has announced his new album, Ride Lonesome, which is due for release on September 18 via Capitol Records. Alongside the announcement, the eight-time Grammy winner has shared the record's latest single, 'In The Night'. Ride Lonesome marks the American singer-songwriter's first studio album of original material since 2019's Hyperspace. The record's title track was released in April, followed by its subsequent duet version featuring Sierra Ferrell.

Dublin Theatre Festival unveils 2026 program – featuring Ruth Negga and more
The Dublin Theatre Festival has announced its 2026 programme, with 26 productions to take place across various venues from September 24 to October 11. The programme centers around four main themes: “Troublemakers,” “Irish Icons,” “The Matriarchy” and “It’s Complicated.” Hosting international productions, Irish premieres and world premieres, the festival sees a variety of different shows spanning over 18 days and about 15 venues.
RÓIS, Huartan and more to play free Zón na Fleidhe area in Belfast
Belfast’s Custom House Square and The Telegraph Building will host a week-long series of free shows as part of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this August. Running from Monday, August 3 to Saturday, August 8, Zón na Fleidhe will feature more than 30 live acts and DJs across the two venues. The line-up includes RÓIS, Huartan, The Shamrocks, Ryan McMullan and Cammy Barnes. Custom House Square will host events on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7 from 2pm.
