Claybody Theatre in association with New Vic Theatre are delighted to be visiting Hull with Arnold Bennett’s rollicking comedy thriller, The Grand Babylon Hotel. The company visit Hull Truck Theatre from Tue 10 – Friday 13 March 2026. Described as “delightfully bonkers”, The Grand Babylon Hotel premiered to great acclaim in Autumn 2025 at New Vic Theatre. The Spring tour marks a major milestone for Claybody Theatre who are touring their work beyond Stoke-on-Trent for the first time.

The Hull Bus Alliance would like to know what bus passengers in the city think of services in Hull by completing the Your Bus, Your Voice customer satisfaction survey. Launched in December, the annual survey provides an opportunity for those who use bus services within the Hull boundary to let Hull City Council, East Yorkshire Buses and Stagecoach East Midlands know what’s working well and what could be improved.

Hull City Council’s Love Your Neighbourhood initiative continues to enhance the city’s footpaths, with upcoming improvements announced for Marfleet Lane. The existing footpath is in need of repair. Following a recent ‘patch walk’ in the Marfleet area, a section of the eastern footpath on Marfleet Lane has been identified as being in need of repair.

Councillor Mike Ross, leader of Hull City Council, has written to the Secretary of State for Transport to seek an urgent meeting to discuss how rail electrification to the city can be included as part of Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR). Earlier last week, the Government announced that £1.1billion was to be made available for the design and preparation of the scheme and committed up to £45bn for its delivery.

Hull Training and Adult Education (HTAE) has been helping employees of Cranswick Convenience Foods build brighter futures through on-site English language lessons. An English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) functional skills course is being delivered directly within the workplace for staff at Cranswick’s Sutton Fields Industrial Estate factory. Sessions are being provided by HTAE to enable employees to learn English alongside colleagues in a familiar environment.

Hull City Council is introducing a new digital platform to help children and young people in care safely record, store and reflect on their life stories. The council has approved the use of the Virtual Memory Box, a secure online system that allows care-experienced children and young people to capture important memories, milestones and experiences in one accessible place.

Seven regional photographers capture a year of action at Beverley Racecourse – the excitement of the crowds, the behind-the-scenes work of the stewards, vets and caterers and the stars of the show – the horses and jockeys. The photographs are complemented by museum objects and archive documents exploring Beverley’s long horse racing history. Some of the photographers involved will be in the exhibition space on the opening day of the exhibition from 10.30am to 4pm to chat to visitors.
