The Government of Bangladesh and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) have signed US$1 billion financing agreement for the modernisation and expansion of the Eastern Refinery Project. Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Additional Secretary (Admin, ICT and Middle East), Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance, signed on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh, and Anasse Aissami, Director General, Country Operations, signed on behalf of the IsDB.

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has secured a contract with CS Gas North to provide 16 submerged motor pumps for German LNG Terminal in Brunsbüttel. Nikkiso CE&IG is manufacturing high-pressure, low-pressure, and ship-loading pumps for the project, which is being built by German LNG Terminal GmbH and scheduled to be operational in 2027.

Axens will deliver the unit under prefabricated modular form, supporting YPF’s objective to execute this unit on fast-track schedule with minimal on-site activity, while maintaining refinery operations.

As CCS projects scale across Europe and beyond, insulation plays a vital role in efficiency, durability, and process reliability. CITGO Petroleum Corp. is advancing its Lake Charles Refinery Depentanizer Project, a US$310 million investment that supports the long-term competitiveness of one of the nation's largest and most complex refineries. The project will add new facilities and equipment to improve naphtha upgrading capabilities at the Lake Charles Refinery by converting lower-value streams into higher-value gasoline blend components.

OMV Petrom, an integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, has announced the delivery of all seven modules for its second green hydrogen electrolyser, with a capacity of 35 MW, at the Petrobrazi refinery in Romania. Together with the previously announced 20 MW unit, the total installed green hydrogen production capacity at Petrobrazi now amounts to 55 MW. “Reaching 55 MW of green hydrogen production capacity at Petrobrazi is an important step for our refinery.
