IFPMA welcomes the Vision 2035 strategy, including its emphasis on accelerating UHC, health systems resilience, digital transformation, health workforce and leadership transformation, and institutional modernization.

100 days after the Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak was declared in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the global pharmaceutical industry has underlined its track record and commitment to tackling health emergencies and urged that the milestone should provide a “wake up call” to re-focus the Pandemic Agreement negotiations.

It also exposed vulnerabilities in global supply chains and underscored the importance of international cooperation, transparency and regulatory coordination in responding to health emergencies.

Human health and nature are deeply interconnected. Land-use change, climate change, and pollution drive biodiversity loss and reshape the environmental conditions on which human well-being depends. Land-use change increases the risk of zoonotic spillover and emerging infectious diseases; climate change alters the distribution of vector- and waterborne diseases and stresses threatened species; and pollution adds to the human disease burden while accelerating habitat degradation.
