Nordic Compound Invest A/S has increased its shareholding in Catena Media plc, doubling its voting rights in the Malta-headquartered affiliate marketing company to just over 10 per cent. Nordic Compound Invest A/S is a Danish investment company that focuses on concentrated investments in small and mid-cap listed companies, primarily across the Nordic region.

Europe’s top financial markets regulator warned that many products within prediction market platforms could be in breach of existing EU rules. The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, issued a clarification on the position of prediction markets within EU law. It said that regulation differs depending on the question being asked within the ‘event contract’.

Hub88, an online casino and igaming aggregator registered in Malta, has partnered with MadLab Gaming to strengthen its content offering. MadLab Gaming is an independent games studio focused on delivering online casino entertainment, Hub88 said in a statement.

Greece’s gambling regulator has filed criminal charges against 18 influencers and streamers for promoting unlicensed betting platforms. The move was announced by Antonis Bartholomew, head of the Greek Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP), during the fourth Greek Online Gaming day. He said the first five influencers targeted had 623,000, 456,000, 435,000, 422,000 and 337,000 followers respectively, bringing their combined reach to over 3 million followers.

iGEN, an association of leading Malta-based iGaming companies, praised Prime Minister Robert Abela for taking a strong stance against a proposed EU-wide gambling tax. “Well done to Malta's Prime Minister Robert Abela, promising to veto the proposed EU tax on gambling, and nice to see the support across the political spectrum,” iGEN said.
