WDBM (88.9 FM), East Lansing, Michigan, United States, branded Impact 88.9, is a 2,000 watt, Class A, student-run college radio station at Michigan State University that broadcasts to listeners in the Lansing metropolitan area. The signal can be heard as far south as Jackson, Michigan, southeast almost to Brighton, and north to Alma, far beyond its 60 dBu service contour which represents its clearest signal. The station is the successor to the Michigan State Network, which in the 1970s was the nation's largest college carrier current radio network, and had studios in several MSU dormitories. The network was eventually consolidated to one carrier current station, WLFT ("Tune to the Left"), which broadcast from the former WKAR studios on the third floor of the MSU Auditorium Building. The MSU offense has been hot this season, netting 16 goals over four games while dominating in the attacking third. The Spartan offense lit up right out of the gate, shooting five shots within the first 15 minutes of the game.

No. 3 Michigan State Women’s Soccer fended off a gritty Colorado Buffaloes team after a second-half surge. The Spartans got off to a great start, scoring three goals in the first half and leaving the Buffaloes scoreless. EAST LANSING– Michigan State volleyball hosted Miami in its season opener, entering the matchup as a slight underdog. Yet, the Spartans started the match on fire, building a 15-6 lead in the opening set while playing off the energy of the Breslin Center crowd. Miami looked shaky to start, committing two attack errors and two service errors. The Spartans then took advantage and didn’t look back, winning the opening set 25-19.
No. 3 Michigan State women’s soccer settles for scoreless draw vs Eastern Michigan
EAST LANSING– Riding high off an emphatic road victory at No. 7 North Carolina, No. 3 Michigan State women’s soccer looked to continue its early winning streak. The Spartans took on Eastern Michigan at DeMartin Stadium in one of the first matches with students back on campus. However, neither team was able to find the scoreboard and the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The Spartans completely dominated possession and dictated the pace but could not convert.

Dan Bartholomae will be the next Vice President and Athletic Director for Michigan State University, the school announced Monday. Bartholomae will be MSU’s fourth full-time athletic director since Mark Hollis resigned from the role in 2018. The move comes two months after J Batt departed the position for the University of Kentucky, leaving the job after only one year amid the uncertainty surrounding MSU President Kevin Guskiewicz’s own departure for Clemson University.

EAST LANSING- The No. 7-ranked Michigan State Spartans kicked off their 2026 campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory in a top 25 battle, taking down the No. 18 Xavier Musketeers. The season in East Lansing started off slow, with the Spartans controlling much of the game by leading in possession and shots on goal with a 3-1 advantage. The action didn’t really heat up until the 18th minute, when Xavier junior forward Peyton Kohls potentially had the Musketeers’ best look of the night.
