The 35,000-square-foot addition will create new spaces for music, dance and theatre while increasing the Conservatory’s capacity to serve students and the Kansas City community, according to a Thursday release. The expansion will have a phased development, with phase one expected to take approximately 18 months.

Posted September 23, 2026 The Gardner City Council is moving forward with Velocity Arts LLC’s plans to build a $1.55 billion entertainment campus. Councilmembers at the Gardner City Council meeting on Monday decided to vote in favor of a request to rezone nearly 215 acres of agricultural land into mixed-use. The site would be used to develop an entertainment campus located along the I-35 corridor near 175th Street.

First Washington Realty announced the acquisition of Liberty Corners along with The Village of Blaine, a shopping center in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.

Posted September 16, 2026 Creative Planning has entered into an acquisition agreement for Portland, Oregon-based investment consulting firm, RVK, Inc. RVK advises over 200 institutional clients with approximately $4.3 trillion in assets, according to a Tuesday release. The client base consists of public and private retirement plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, health systems and other sophisticated asset owners. The transaction is expected to close in January 2027.

Posted September 16, 2026 The Kansas City shopping center Zona Rosa has been sold for $63.3 million to a Florida-based real estate investment trust. On Monday, CTO Realty Growth, Inc. announced it had acquired Zona Rosa, a 768,000-square-foot mixed-use center for $63.3 million, or $82 per square foot. Zona Rosa is located at 8640 N Dixson Ave. With this acquisition, CTO has officially entered into the Kansas City market.

Chapman, who is currently serving as a cardiologist with NKC Health Heart Care, began his one-year term as the medical staff president on July 1, according to a release. He first joined Meritas Health, a subsidiary of North Kansas City Hospital, in 2005. The two hospital entities rebranded to NKC Health in 2025.
