Watch World Cup finals in 600 block of Downtown Menlo Park
by Linda Hubbard on July 18, 2026 As part of its Downtown Vibrancy initiative, the City of Menlo Park is hosting a pop-up at the 600 Block Public Plaza to view the FIFA World Cup final game on Sunday, July 19, starting at noon. Large-screen TVs will be available for downtown visitors to watch the match and gather with their Menlo Park community. As a public space, the city guidelines as noted in municipal code § 8.28.140 apply.
Tickets now available for NCEFT’s Polo Charity Classic in August

The goal is to raise $250,000 to support NCEFT’s clients, programs, and horses. All net proceeds directly benefit the children, adults, veterans, and families served through equine-assisted services.
Dead crows in Menlo Park test positive for West Nile virus
by Contributed Content on July 17, 2026 Two dead crows from the Willows neighborhood and one dead crow collected from Nealon Park in Menlo Park have tested positive for West Nile virus. The San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District set additional mosquito traps in the area, and no West Nile virus positive mosquitoes were detected in the nearby area.
Allied Arts Guild Auxiliary hosts art fair on July 19
by Linda Hubbard on July 16, 2026 The Allied Art Guild Auxiliary is holding an art fair on Sunday, July 19 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Sunset Patio — a fundraiser to support the Allied Arts Guild gardens. All art has been donated — small pieces, large pieces and everything in between. Prices range from $5.00 to $2,000, some unframed as well as original signed oils, acrylics and watercolors — all priced to take home and enjoy.
Make your own shadow puppet at a workshop on July 18

During this 90-minute workshop, you’ll make a shadow puppet using repurposed card stock, scissors, hole punches, and your imagination. With only your puppet and a light source, you can transform a sheet, wall, or a ceiling into a puppet theater.
