THE superintendent holding the tiller on the Burleigh Golf Course ship for the past 17 years has cut the painter and headed off into the sunset. Darryl Edwards, an award-winning golf course superintendent, told Inside Golf it was time to “smell the roses” and reset the alarm clock that woke him from his slumber at four o’clock every working day morning. “I said to my wife, Anne-Marie, ‘that’s the four o’clock rise of a morning out of the way for a little while’,” he laughed.

Victoria Park GC: The end of a Brisbane institution

DP World Tour and PGA Tour partner with the Capital.com Australian Open
GOLF Australia has entered into a partnership with the DP World Tour and the PGA TOUR to continue to elevate the men’s Capital.com Australian Open. Covering 2027, 2028 and 2029, the new agreement will see the national championship again co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia, continuing the tournament’s momentum.

Crampton, Devlin and Farley honoured by PGA Australia

So, it was hardly surprising when Bruce Crampton and Bruce Devlin were last month awarded life membership of the PGA of Australia, alongside West Australian Rob Farley.
