Rainbow is the reigning colour in the build-up to 2027. At the national level, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, leads a rainbow coalition that is rocking the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Wike and members of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) have been locked in a bitter dispute over the propriety of his decision to operationalise the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 election.

The Oyo State Government has assured that the French Treasury Loan secured for the state’s development programme is being implemented in line with the purpose for which it was approved by the French authorities. Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally made pistol and a live cartridge during a stop-and-search operation along the Ibadan-Ife Road. The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Kingsley Odoh, was arrested on Thursday, September 25, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m. near Ajia Junction.

The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and former member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Pastor Akin Alamu, as a member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council. The governor also appointed Mr. Elijah Kolawole Akanmu as Special Adviser on Housing as well as a Board Member, Oyo State Housing Corporation, while Mr. Sakariya Mohammed Taofik was named Special Adviser on Rural Development.

The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has debunked the fake news circulating on social media in which Alli’s running mate Hon. Adesoji Adedeji was alleged to have insulted the good people of Oke-Ogun during his visit to Saki on Wednesday. The organisation, in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity Bisi Oladele, described the news as a lie fabricated by desperate politicians who are afraid of the wide acceptance and rising profile of Senator Alli and Hon.

The Oyo State Government on Thursday announced plans to bring all hospitality businesses in the state into the tax system as part of efforts to improve data collection, boost revenue generation and strengthen security coordination across the sector.
